January 2020 Female Athlete of the Month - Courtney Kraemer

Where did you grow up? Hamilton, Ohio

When did you become a member of the Cornerstone community? June 2019

What do you do when you are not at Cornerstone? (occupation, hobbies, etc.)   I am a family law attorney who runs my own firm with four attorneys and five amazing support staff members. I spend any spare time I can traveling with my two kids to pursue their love of acting..

What is your favorite workout movement? Almost any kind of squat.

What is your least favorite movement your Coach makes you do?  Burpees.

What is your favorite accomplishment since becoming a part of Cornerstone? I couldn’t even squat to parallel six months ago, and now I’m pretty much down to the ground. I also am starting to feel a lot of strength developing in my upper body which really has me feeling stronger. I’ve also gone down four sizes in six months which is an amazing added benefit!

What is something about yourself that we might not know? I’m a perfectionist and can’t stand it when there is something I can’t do!

What advice would you give to someone just getting started at Cornerstone? When someone said “Crossfit” to me before I had ever done it, I had a vision of a level of athleticism that I would never be able to do so to me walking in the first time was the hardest. Don’t be intimidated or discouraged, you can find a way to make each workout something you can do by scaling movements and you will never find a more supportive environment to do it in. Stacey was an incredible support system for me and remains my go to coach, but all the coaches are really amazing and supportive.

What goals do you have for the rest of 2019?. Toes to bar by summer 🙂

Fill in the Blank

I’m #allin Cornerstone because….it’s the thing I do for me, that makes me better at everything else I do in my life. My stress is less, I sleep better, and I have more energy all day long!
