Beth Walsh- September 2021 Female Athlete of the Month

Name: Beth Walsh

Where did you grow up? Ohio, specifically down the road in Fairfield.

When did you become a member of the Cornerstone community? Joe and I joined in July, 2020.

What do you do when you are not at Cornerstone? (occupation, hobbies, etc.)  My day job is at Plains Jr. as an Intervention Specialist.  Hobbies include cheering my kids on in their activities, working out, cooking delicious food and eating it.

What is your favorite workout movement? I like deadlifts, but I like power cleans too.  It’s a tie.

What is your least favorite movement your Coach makes you do?  Hands down, overhead squats, no tie there.

What is your favorite accomplishment since becoming a part of Cornerstone?  My favorite accomplishment has been competing in the Swolemates competition with Joe.  It was a really fun day and I loved working together.

What is something about yourself that we might not know? I love music trivia and all trivia really. Grainworks for Thursday music trivia; it’s my jam!

What advice would you give to someone just getting started at Cornerstone? Start on an AMRAP day…no but really.  I would say that you should never be afraid of the clock or be afraid to scale.  Each person is different so you have to be respectful of your own growth and listen to your body.  It doesn’t matter if you are first or last, it matters that you did it!

What goals do you have for the rest of 2020?. Continue to be consistent with workoutsGet more confident in movements and become more fundamentally sound.  Share positive thoughts with the people around me.

Fill in the Blank I’m #allin Cornerstone because….I am in awe and inspired by the strength and positivity around me at Cornerstone.
