Ally Herndon- August 2021 Female Athlete of the Month

Name: Ally Herndon

Where did you grow up? Grew up in Batavia OH, way way way on the East side of town and then moved this way and graduated from Kings High School!

When did you become a member of the Cornerstone community? My fiance and I became members in January of this year after buying a house in West Chester.

What do you do when you are not at Cornerstone? (occupation, hobbies, etc.)  From 8-5 you’ll catch me working remote with hospitals/travel nurses on placements and compliance. Outside of that, I love any sort of hiking, being outdoors with our pup, or baking vegan sweet treats!

What is your favorite workout movement? I love a good dumbbell snatch or even Devil Press.

What is your least favorite movement your Coach makes you do?  Burpees. Burpees. Burpees. Buck Furpees.

What is your favorite accomplishment since becoming a part of Cornerstone? In the past month I’ve strung together two toes to bar and Clean and Jerked 100 pounds. Both things I really never thought I would be able to do.

What is something about yourself that we might not know? I used to travel all over the country helping with natural disasters at a nonprofit. I can also do the worm. Few have been lucky enough during class to see it.

What advice would you give to someone just getting started at Cornerstone? At the end of the day class is only what you make of it. Put into it what you want out of it and just have fun with the people around you. Crossfit is community.

What goals do you have for the rest of 2021?. Start a shoe collection as good as Melissa’s and finally get 75 lb snatch overhead.

I’m #allin Cornerstone because…. Every person I have come in contact with has made me a better me.
