Meet Coach Stacey
How did you find your way to Cornerstone?
My love of fitness and movement began as a child playing multiple sports and dancing.
Around 2000 | found Pilates and soon began training for my initial Mat Certification. In 2008, 1 completed my Apparatus Instruction and began training clients in the Pilates Method while living in Massachusetts. In 2016, I joined Cornerstone as a member looking for a way to challenge myself in different ways physically. Along the way I began programming and coaching our Sweat class and eventually began coaching CF classes.
Why are you passionate about coaching?
I am passionate about helping people feel better and understand how to move their bodies better. The fundamentals of Pilates exercises translate into any movement (including breathing and sitting) and can improve people’s performance in any aspect of their life. The muscles within our core support, suspend and protect our spine. I love teaching people how to reach these deep muscles and achieve strength and stability, in addition to minimizing and reducing any pain or discomfort they may have.
Who are your favorite clients to help?
My favorite thing is working with a client who has dealt with some form of chronic pain or injury and helping them become pain free or regain function. Having had my own issues with knee pain as a teenager due to imbalanced muscular structure and neck pain from herniation after the birth of my son, I know what chronic pain can do to our body and mental and emotional state. Helping others prevent or minimize pain is beyond fulfilling.
I’m #allin Cornerstone because…
I’m #allin Cornerstone because this community is everything. The support everyone has for one another is amazing.
